Julie Sugar

Julie Sugar is a writer and editor with deep experience across the nonprofit, educational technology, and publishing sectors. Julie has engaged populations like emerging young adults on college campuses as well as writers and professionals at all stages of their careers, and she is passionate about helping individuals and organizations tell their own story.  

Most recently, as the managing editor of the Jewish Review of Books, Julie created and led the production calendar, worked closely with authors and aspiring authors, and supported the magazine's efforts from operations to strategy. She also works as a freelance editor and writing coach.

Julie holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles, specializing in creative nonfiction and literary translation. She lives in Chicago with her husband and their two daughters and perhaps, one day, a cat.
